~As I was a walkin' around The Lonely Mountain

~I met with Captain Farrows as he was counting his money

~I shook my Axe and I drew forth my Shield

~and Said, "Stand and deliver, for I am the bold deceiver."

~The shining gold coins did look nice and so

~I took 'em home with me and I gave them to my Dwarven brothers

~they promised me and said that they never would betray me

~But the greed can be in the dwarves and they never can be easy.

~When I was awakened early in the morning

~Being drunk and weary I went to the great Halls

~Takin' my money with me and I never knew the danger

~For about six or maybe seven in walked Captain Farrows

~I jumped up, trew off my Axes and I hit him with both my blades

~The guards were all around me in numbers

~I flew to my Axes, but alas I was mistaken

~For dwarves drawn my Axe and a prisoner I was taken.

~They put me into jail without a bed or mat

~For Stealin' from Captain Farrows on the Lonely mountain

~But they didn't take my fists so I knocked them down

~And bid a farewell to the jail in Dale.

~Now some take delight in fishing and in hunting

~And others take delight in Adventure

~But I take delight in the gold of the mountain

~And courting pretty gold in the early morning.
